the quality, production, expression, or realm, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing, or of more than ordinary significance.
Almost a year ago I opened a Typepad account and had to give my blog a name. A name that would be my username; my blog's identity. It didn't take me much more than a second to type in the words Art Can't Hurt. It really wasn't a profession of belief, a political statement, a business agenda or a personal quest....simply fulfilling Typepad's requirements for a username. One that hadn't already been taken.
Today I look back on that username and have to wonder if maybe it wasn't a sign or something. Maybe somewhere in my subconcious there was something nudging me toward findng an answer I wasn't aware I was even looking for, or a truth that needed to be heard by me in my own time - coulda just been a stupid cliche username that I typed in too. Who knows. Either way, I choose to look at it as an opportunity for me now, today, to begin taking steps towards making some significant changes in my life. Sure 2008 is just-around-the-bend but I'm not one that's into resolutions, goals or statements. I am, however, into hoping that I can better myself as a person: as a mother, as a wife, as a businesswomen, as a friend, as a daughter and as a person.
So I really think that tomorrow morning, when I wake up and take that first breath of conciousness, I want to go forward with this in mind - a little quality, production, expression, or realm, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing, or of more than ordinary significance (a.k.a. Art) Can't Hurt.
I want to be more than an ordinary significance in all aspects of my life, because that can't hurt, can it?
Love and Blessings to you all!
