Artist Danny O did this print. Doug collects kiddie cars and so naturally when I came across Danny's artwork I bought a few prints. This is one of two that we just framed for Doug's office. I chose a simple frame for it and measured out a nice wide 3" mat so that we could wrap it in newsprint - it made the finished piece more graphic as it tied in with all the letters and numbers that the artist uses in his art.
I cut the mats (and threw in a second mat of 1/8" ebony black to give the piece a crisp edge) and from there D did all the newsprint work. The pieces turned out well - everyone who comes into Doug's office comments on them and although I KNOW it's because Danny's art is so imaginative and original, I'd also like to think it might have something to do with how it was framed so simply and yet so candidly. Who knows? What do you think?
